『幽霊の正体見たり枯れ尾花』 幽霊と思っていたものは、枯れたススキだった、恐れられている人や物の実体がつまらないものであることのたとえです。絶対的な事実が提示され、自分なりの解釈が許されなくなることに私は息苦しさを感じますし、期待外れだったと失望されるものたちも不憫でなりません。

今回私がカメラに収めたモチーフは捨てられたもの、役目を終えたもの、無駄にされたもの、使われなくなってしまったものなど様々ですが、いずれも活かされていないもの達です。彼らを組み合わせ、繋ぎ合わせ、時に脚色することで幽霊としてかりそめの命を与えポートレートを作成しました。​

The motifs I have captured with my camera this time are various things that have been thrown away, that have completed their roles, that have been wasted, that I no longer use, etc. They are all things that have not been utilized. By combining them, piecing them together, and sometimes adapting them, I have given them a temporary life as ghosts and created portraits of them.
